Lloyd Hall
Lloyd Hall’s early life was normal. His dad was a baptist minister and his grandfather was one of the first black preachers at the church they went to. He was born in Elgin, Illinois on June-20-1894. After Lloyd went to high school in Aurora, Illinois he left to go to the military. He was a Lieutenant in World War 1 until he got kicked out.
After Lloyd Hall finished college he started his career in chemistry. After College he got a bachelors degree in chemistry and hired a coworker named Carrol.L.Griffth. The first invention they did was curing meat which was a meat that did not get spoiled or have too much bacteria. This invention saved many people from getting diseases from spoiled meat. Lloyd put the meat on a special stove and that was what took the bacteria off, I am not sure what the stove did to the meat but it was a method called flash drying. When he was finished inventing curing meat he found out that preserved spices contained too much bacteria and mold. So they put a gas/chemical in the spice. The spice no longer had bacteria or mold but now it had chemicals and gas. so after a while they found out that the spice was just as unhealthy as normal spice. So Lloyd failed that invention. A few years later Lloyd retired and joined the food for peace council. He later died in Pasadena, California in 1971.
