Book Title: Lhena and the Spider
Software Used: Kid Pix and Claris Works
As a class we studied arachnids. I read a number of fiction and nonfiction books about spiders to teach the children about the life cycle of spiders, along with their habitat. I read the book The Lady and the Spider to the students. The children wrote a retell of the book as a creative writing. They typed their stories on the computer and saved their work in their Classwork folders. From there I chose the story I wanted to enter in the book contest.
The illustrations were done in Kid Pix to illustrate the different parts of the story, which became the pages to the book.
