Objective:
Students will be able to draw a picture and dictate a sentence about what they want to be when they grow up.
Materials needed:
Kid Pix, crayons, markers, pencil
Procedure:
1. Discuss different jobs that students can be when they grow up. Brainstorm different occupations and have students pick something they would like to be when they grow up. Talk about what they will have to do in their jobs and why they picked that job.
2. Give students a xeroxed paper with words already printed reading "When I grow up, I want to be a..." Have them draw a picture of what they want to be. They will dictate a sentence to the teacher and the teacher will write their words.
3. Students will sit in the author's chair and share their picture with their classmates.
4. Using Kid Pix, students will draw their picture using the paint mode. Using the text portion, students will type their sentence.
5. Teacher will compile illustrations into an electronic book.
