Thia book will be made into a classroom book for the students to read.
Because our class set up an aquarium for all to learn from and to enjoy, the next step was to write about it and we decided to make an alphabet book about an aquarium. Since the aquarium became a familiar item in the classroom, it was easy for the students to draw their alphabet page using the computer and Kid Pix program.
Prior to computer use the class made up a list alphabetically of aquarium things and facts.
Then each student chose a page to illustrate. As a class we then wrote a sentence of fact
about the page. We used the computer with TV hook up to do this together. Then the students
illustrated their page on the computer. It was amazing to see the work that they did. from the lessons learned on the program and their new discoveries as they worked on their page.
We were so pleased with the outcome of the book, we decided to enter the book in the
Electronic Book Contest for all to enjoy.
