Book Contest 2000
This entry in the EBC Contest was a result of a Parts of Speech Unit on Nouns, Verbs & Adjectives.
Objective: Students will be able to write and illustrate alliterations then transfer work on Kid Pix and to make an alliteration slideshow.
Materials: Computer, Kid Pix & Slideshow
Time Line: 3 - 6 Hours of Computer Time in the Lab or Class for Lessons on Kid Pix, SlideShow and for completing project.
Following a language arts unit on parts of speech, we chose our favorite alliterations to make pages using Kid Pix. We saved our pages in our folders until we completed 3 or more alliteration pages. Each child then made an alliteration slideshow from their alliteration pages made in Kid Pix. We had so much fun creating our own SlideShow that we entered our favorite alliterations into the EBC 2000.
An extension of the language arts activity would be to have the children record their voices as they read their alliterations as well as author books.
